World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades provide players with the ability to upgrade equipment that they already own. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.
enhancing equipment can boost the stats of an item, and can also add additional features based on the type of item. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB Sorcs or Goldwraps for casting builds.
Armour
Armour is one of the most important factors that keep Link protected from injury in the majority of situations. Although it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it can still be improved in various ways to increase its defence capabilities.
The fundamental idea behind armour is to protect the person or animal from physical injury or harm whether from physical attack or from various dangers to the environment or activity. Historically, armour was mostly made of leather or fabric, but later metal protections were used as well, especially in military applications like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
As with weapons there are a variety of ways that armor can be upgraded, however, most of them will require a visit to one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain comes with its own level of upgrades available, with more granting greater levels of protection and requiring a higher cost in rupees and the materials needed to unlock.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been put in place and removed, they cannot be reverted unless you own another piece of gear with the same upgrade. You should only apply the highest-level upgrades to your equipment, and ensure that you have the materials required to complete them.
You will find the upgrades you need in many locations throughout Hyrule. These include merchants, shrines and even enemies. They're usually identified by a blue triangle or a gold circle symbol and are available in large numbers as you progress through. Although they can appear randomly, there's a chance that acquiring certain upgrade components will trigger an adventure that rewards players with more.
It is important to remember that, although the level offered by each upgrade could vary, it will always be higher than nothing. A complete set of upgraded armor will give you a high-defense boost that will protect against any kind of attack, except magic. This makes it an effective weapon for all classes.
Weapons
If you'd like to make your guns truly unique, you can enhance them by utilizing a variety of unique upgrades. They can boost damage, alter the weapon's stats in order to adapt to your particular build, and even unlock new attachments such as unique enchantments, ammo types and more aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon you'll need to have an upgrade component available as well as the item itself. The weapon has to be at least a certain level before you can upgrade it. Most weapons can only be upgraded by one upgrade.
Weapon upgrade components can be found scattered throughout the world, from the enemy or from merchants. Upgrade components are made up of components that you can slot into weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools in order to gain an attribute bonus. They require equipment to be of a certain level to allow the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same way as other items.
Upgrades are a mix of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They can be used to boost the power of weapons and increase their ability to scale with other stats. They can be found from enemies dropped in the open, bought from a few merchants or from combat.
Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: Blacksmith Hewg, located in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji located in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will accept your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a more powerful version of the weapon as well as an upgrade.
Prioritize upgrading your top-in-slot items first. Then upgrade the ones you aren't likely to replace anytime soon. If you're planning to play in a melee-based build, for example, upgrade your weapon first, then your chest and shoulders, then your feet and hands. The same principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that certain procs may be better than others depending on your playstyle. Armour is no different, with some Reforges being better than others.

Magic Items
A character can upgrade only one item of magic at a time. If an upgrade project is canceled, any subsequent upgrades for the item won't begin. Magic items that are upgraded cost twice the amount of gold it would cost to create or buy, but they can also have extra benefits.
A magical item is any item that has special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, but there are some that include armor, shields, cloaks, potions, scrolls, rings and other objects. Some of these items can be converted into a sentient.
Most magic items can have their abilities enhanced. This can make them more useful to players, or could help them conquer an especially difficult challenge. A weapon infused with some special substance could be able to provide additional damage against a specific enemy type. This is especially useful for characters who have reached a level where they will likely face the same kind of monster repeatedly in dungeons.
An infused ring might confer the ability to resist piercing, bludgeoning or slashing injuries from nonmagical attacks (not including silver-plated ones) until the next time the character takes a long rest. This is especially beneficial for melee fighters or anyone who would like to avoid the expense and hassle of buying a shield.
Some enchanted objects have special powers that allow the character to cast spells that are not in their list of classes. This is a great benefit for characters that have difficulty keeping their spell slots full because of multiclassing. These magical objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana), and the spell is determined by rolling a table based on the amount of Intelligence points spent.
Other enchanted items might let the user change their appearance, or even create a new appearance. These items are particularly useful for characters that have been forced to leave their home or in a location where they may not be accepted. A magical item may give them the ability to disappear or make them invisible to anyone, excluding the person they choose to.
Utility Items
Utility items are equipment that don't fall into the categories of Armor, Clothing or Weapons and have various capabilities. Unlike Armor and Weapons and Clothing, no utility item will be in conflict with the other. Most utility items provide a passive effect that the player can activate by using them, but some also have additional capabilities that are activated when the user presses an action button or activates the ability.
Generally speaking, the most popular kind of utility item is the Flashlight that illuminates the surrounding area. Other useful items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in all directions when on the ground. In the Engineering section, you can quickly create a variety of utilitarian items, whereas others are only available through Research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
Players can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to those they have in their usual inventory by purchasing them at the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items can be upgraded to allow more effective use.
Most utility items increase an individual combat ability or provide the player with some sort of advantage in navigation. For instance, Sharpening stones crafted by the Weaponsmith boost Ferocity and Power as well as Maintenance Oils created by the Huntsman improve the concentration and healing power. Other items that are useful can be used by the player to boost Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers can equip a useful item at the beginning of the campaign. Eventually, an additional slot is made available by equipping certain types of armor or by completing engineering, research or other projects in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are added by equipping the Grenade Launcher which allows players to equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in another grenade slot. an offensive grenade can be placed in the main grenade slot.
